Don’t Judge too Quickly!
At the Collaborative Leadership Conference today we were shown a YouTube video. There was no introduction of the video. It was just played.
I have to admit…I immediately began judging even before I heard him sing. Makes me sad to think that I still judge people too quickly and base it on first impressions.
First impressions are critical. But not always accurate. You’re going to really like this.

Hah! It’s been a while since I saw that video but it still amazes me. I’m sure I did the same amount of judging as you, the UK and the rest of the interwebs when I first saw this guy. I Wikipedia-ed him when I first saw the clip and if I remember right, he’s had a fair amount of success since appearing on the show.

Jeff,
I put this video on my facebook months ago after seeing this man on one of the morning news shows. It moved me deeply. He now has a recording contract in Great Britain. Sadly I think Christian’s are the worst at judging people even though we are commanded not to do so. I know I have been on the receiving end before of such things and had my fair share of judging others too.
After I saw this man perform on television and the numerous times I have played his youtube video I weep at the absolute beauty that comes out of him and hurt for the way I am sure he has been mistreated in his life. His voice moves me to tears each time I hear it.
