C3 Conference (Perry Noble)
There were two reasons I was excited to attend the C3 Conference. First, getting time alone with my team. Secondly, getting to hear Perry Noble in person. I’ve been following Perry and what God is doing at New Spring Church, Anderson, SC for about a year. It’s been amazing to see God work in and through the life of this church.
Here are my take-aways from his session:
- If we believe lies, then we’ll go and share those lies with others. Who will then believe in those lies and then go and share those lies with others.
3 Things That Matter:
Environments
- If you’re serving on a church staff and the only reason you attend that church is because you are on staff, there needs to be an environment change.
- We need to create environments where people can see and experience Jesus in a real way.
- We need to offer God the best we have.
Vision
- Vision is not to be limited. It is to be cast.
- Get up, if you’ve been knocked down. We don’t have to stay down!
- Don’t be afraid - don’t let what people do and say affect vision.
Jesus
- Jesus is what matters. Nothing else.
- Preach and live Jesus.
I can’t tell you how hard I laughed during Perry’s session. I have to tell you one story he shared. He told about his father telling him a lie. He said that it snowed 6 inches one day when he was a child. He was getting ready to go out to play. Here’s the dialogue:
Dad: You can’t go outside.
Perry: Why?
Dad: There are snow snakes out there.
Perry: Do they bite?
Dad: Nope. They jump up your butt and freeze you to death.
Perry didn’t go outside. The next day at school here’s the conversation:
Teacher: Class how many of you went outside and played in the snow?
Perry: (Hands down at his side)
Teacher: Perry, why didn’t you go outside?
Perry: There were snow snakes out there.
Teacher: Snow snakes? Do they bite?
Perry: Nope, they jump up your butt and freeze you to death.
Oh, this one is so going to be used on my grandchildren!
