I was at the C3 Conference at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX with the Ed Staff at Henderson Hills. It was great spending time with my staff. I’m truly blessed to get to serve and do life together with these people.

Here are some of my key ’Take-Aways’ from the C3 Conference:

Ed Young, Jr

• God allows us to break down so we can break through to what He has for us.
• Pit happens - especially when you lead.
• Betrayal is the elephant in the room especially as leaders.
• You are either: Pre-Pit—-Post Pit—-or In-Pit.
• There is always a Judas at your table, close enough to kiss you.
• Envy and  Jealousy are one step away from betrayal.
• Envy engineers and plot betrayal.
• We must move from ‘Why me?’ to ‘What now?’ when we’re in the pit.
• Signs of Envy: ‘Are you sad over others victories?’ ‘Are you glad over others defeats?’
• What do you do in the pit?
  • Looking down and around.
  • Looking  up.
  • Trusting God, waiting patiently.
• There are two kinds of people in the pit with us: adders (those who infect us with their venom) and ladders (those who lift us while we’re in the pit).
• Potiphar’s wife = ‘Hottie’phar.
• Loyalty to God, your supervisor, your job brings success.
• Pit happens - I just had to write that again.
• We will meet our sin again.
• Betrayal doesn’t have to end a relationship.
• Betrayers bring out the players and the posers.
• Betrayal allows God to pick up the broken pieces and do a work only He can do.
• Did I say ‘Pit Happens’?

Obviously there was a lot to take away from both of Ed’s sessions.
