C3 Conference (Brian Houston)
Brian Houston is the Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church, Sydney, Australia. Here are some of my take-aways from his talk:
- Sometimes as a leader we need to take one step to the side to get people to begin following us, stop running into us, and impeeding our movement. (little tweaks make a difference)
- Churches should be empowering places.
- To empower the people we have to have a Kingdom mindset.
- As leaders we need to take the #2 position, serving others.
- We need to build a culture of permission.
- Can people flourish under my leadership?
- Do people have opportunities to grow?
- We need to have a balance between forgiveness (grace) and challenge (stretch)
