“Fundamentalist” or “Curious” which are You?

Below is a video of an interview with Seth Godin. Seth is a writer, I HIGHLY recommend his books if you are a church leader, and a very popular blogger, ranked #16 in Technorati’s top 100 list.

Take a look at the video and let me know how you think his definition of “Fundamentalist” and “Curious” could affect the church.

One Response to ““Fundamentalist” or “Curious” which are You?”

    Granata:

That’s a lot of depth packed into a 5 minute video. Rob Bell better watch out. Lots of thoughts. To answer your first question, I consider myself curious if only because of my willingness to give something a try before completely dismissing it. I believe this comes from my entrepreneur characteristics. The answer to your second question (related to the church) is tricky. I’ve always been taught to judge everything against scripture, spiritual authority and the conviction of the Spirit. Is it permissible for me to be curious with the church? If I am curious does that make me Emergent™?

The whole discussion reminds me of the debate about whether launching something in beta or waiting for perfection is better. As long as we are staying Biblical, can’t we launch and adjust?
